Dr. Blaney graduated from dental school in 1985. From 1985 until 1988 he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi. In 1986, Dr. Blaney received the Navy’s Humanitarian Services Medal for his work during Hurricane Elena in 1985. In 1987, Dr. Blaney was recognized as the number one ranked Lieutenant dental officer in the U.S. Navy’s Southeastern Region.
In 1988 Dr. Blaney returned to Indiana University to pursue his study in Endodontics. During his residency, he continued to serve his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
Upon graduation in 1990 Dr. Blaney accepted a position as an associate in Clearwater, Florida. In 1993, he opened his own practice in Gainesville, Florida. From 1994 until 1999, in addition to his solo practice, Dr. Blaney also was an assistant clinical instructor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Florida. In 2000, he served as the president of the Alachua County Dental Association.
In 2002, wishing to be closer to family, Dr. Blaney and his family moved to Nashville, where he joined Dr. Emery as a partner in Rivergate Endodontics.
In addition to being passionate about providing top quality endodontic care, Dr. Blaney enjoys music, playing and coaching ice hockey and baseball, and most of all, his wife Stephanie, their two children, and the family’s two dogs.
